Beloved Reschio Hotel in Umbria Launches Thoughtful Lifestyle Brand

Luxury hotels often try to bottle their magic. Few manage it with the authenticity of Castello di Reschio. The celebrated Umbrian retreat has now taken a natural next step with the launch of Reschio Collections, a lifestyle brand rooted in family heritage, practical design, and traditional Italian craftsmanship.

The new venture comes from the Bolza family, the creative force behind the beloved estate. Rather than chasing trends or expanding into luxury goods for the sake of branding, the family has built a collection that reflects how they actually live.

A Family Legacy Woven Into Every Piece

Reschio / IG / Reschio Collections is led by Giorgiana, Nerina, and Vita Bolza, daughters of Count Benedikt Bolza and his wife Nencia.

Their involvement feels less like a business decision and more like a continuation of a lifelong creative tradition.

Long before Castello di Reschio became one of Italy's most admired hotels, the family was immersed in making things by hand. Benedikt, an architect, spent years restoring the estate's thousand-year-old castle and designing much of its furniture himself. Guests who admired the elegant four-poster beds were already seeing the family's design philosophy in action. Nencia added her own artistic touch through the Renaissance-inspired frescoes painted in the estate chapel.

The sisters grew up surrounded by sketches, fabrics, paint, and craftsmanship. They altered clothing, created costumes, and experimented with design from an early age. Reschio Collections simply gives structure to instincts that have been part of their lives for decades.

Designed for Real-life on a Historic Estate

What makes the first Reschio Collections range especially interesting is its origin. These products were not developed through market research or trend forecasting. They began as solutions to everyday needs on the family's sprawling 3,700 acre estate.

One standout piece is a thoughtfully designed bag crafted from organic cotton, Tuscan leather, and brass. It was created to carry a watercolor painting set into the Umbrian countryside. The design reflects a slower pace of life and encourages creativity outdoors.

Another item emerged from a practical challenge. Nencia wanted an easier way to keep track of her phone while managing a busy household with five children. The result is a leather pouch that straps comfortably to a belt, making it ideal for walks, hikes, and daily errands.

The collection also includes velvet Friulana slippers in rich jewel tones. Produced by a local shoemaker, they combine comfort with understated elegance. Their appeal lies in their simplicity and craftsmanship rather than flashy branding.

Perhaps the most anticipated items are the hotel's signature bedsheets. Guests had been asking for them repeatedly, creating enough demand to justify bringing them into the collection. Now, visitors can recreate a small piece of the Reschio experience at home.

Even the spirit of the estate's staff uniforms influences the collection. Known as the guardaroba, these garments were designed by Nencia and draw inspiration from historic Italian country workwear. They embody the same balance of practicality and beauty found throughout the brand.

Preserving Italian Craftsmanship for the Future

Reschio / IG / The launch of Reschio Collections reflects a deeper commitment to preserving traditional skills and supporting local artisans.

For more than 30 years, the Bolza family has worked closely with craftspeople across the region while restoring and maintaining the estate. These relationships have become an essential part of the Reschio story.

Every product in the collection is made in Italy. The family deliberately collaborates with artisans who use techniques passed down through generations. In an era when many brands outsource production to distant factories, that decision feels increasingly meaningful.

Traditional craftsmanship faces growing pressure from automation and mass production. Skills that once defined regional cultures risk disappearing as cheaper alternatives dominate the market. Reschio Collections aims to help keep those traditions alive by creating demand for handmade work.
