Netflix Releases "Office Romance" Trailer With Jennifer Lopez’s Grand Return to the Rom-Com

Netflix is bringing back big rom-com energy, and it starts with Jennifer Lopez. The first trailer for "Office Romance" just dropped, and it already has people talking. It mixes sharp humor, workplace tension, and a love story that refuses to stay quiet.

Lopez steps into a role that feels both fresh and familiar. The 56-year-old singer plays Jackie Cruz, a top airline CEO who runs a tight ship. Her character believes in rules, structure, and control, especially when it comes to romance at work.

Jackie Cruz does not mess around when it comes to company policy. She enforces a strict no-dating rule at Air Cruz, and she expects everyone to follow it. That includes herself, which makes her life neat, organized, and a little lonely.

Everything shifts when Daniel Blanchflower enters the picture. Brett Goldstein plays him with charm and quiet confidence. He is the new company lawyer, and he quickly becomes someone Jackie cannot ignore.

Their connection builds fast, but it never feels rushed. The trailer shows stolen looks, tense meetings, and moments that stretch longer than they should. It is clear they are both trying to stay professional, but the tension says otherwise.

As their bond grows, so does the risk. Jackie knows what she stands to lose, and she says it out loud. If anyone finds out, it could destroy everything she built from the ground up.

Romance With Real Stakes

Just Jared / IG / "Office Romance" leans into the idea that love is not always convenient. Jackie and Daniel are both driven people, and their careers mean everything to them.

The almost 3-minute-long trailer hints at secret meetings and close calls. It also shows a getaway to the Dominican Republic, which adds a new layer to their story. Away from the office, they try to figure out what this connection really means.

Still, the promise of “no fooling around at the office” hangs over them. It creates a push and pull that feels honest and relatable. They want each other, but they also want to protect what they have worked so hard to achieve.

This tension gives the film its edge. It is not just about falling in love. It is about deciding what matters most when everything is on the line.

Jennifer Lopez Returns to Her Roots

JLO / IG / Jennifer Lopez has a long history with romantic comedies. Films like "The Wedding Planner" and "Maid in Manhattan" made her a fan favorite in the genre.

With "Office Romance," she returns to that space with more depth and confidence. Her portrayal of Jackie Cruz feels grounded and strong. She is not just a love interest. She is a leader, a decision-maker, and someone who has built a life on her own terms.

Brett Goldstein brings a different kind of energy. Fans of "Ted Lasso" will recognize his style, but here he shows a more romantic side. His chemistry with Lopez looks natural, which is key for a film like this.

Goldstein also helped write the script, along with Joe Kelly. That creative input gives the story a clear voice. It feels personal, funny, and honest without trying too hard.

Director Ol Parker knows how to handle romance with style. His work on "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again" and "Ticket to Paradise" proves he understands timing, emotion, and charm. In "Office Romance," he brings that same touch to a modern setting.

Betty Gilpin, Amy Sedaris, and Jodie Whittaker bring strong personalities to the screen. Each actor seems to have a clear role in shaping the world around Jackie and Daniel. Tony Hale and Mary Wiseman add humor, while Bradley Whitford brings a sense of authority.

One of the most interesting parts of the cast is Edward James Olmos. He plays Jackie’s father, Captain Jack Cruz. This marks a reunion with Lopez, who worked with him in "Selena" back in 1997.

Netflix seems to have a hit on its hands, especially with a release date set for June 5, 2026. The trailer already shows a film that understands its audience and knows how to keep them hooked. If the full movie delivers on what the trailer promises, "Office Romance" could become one of the standout rom-coms of the year.
