The summer heat is already unbearable. Cooling down regularly seems like a good idea but having that ice cream every day may not seem ideal to you or your health. Never been a smoothie drinker? This healthy strawberry smoothie recipe might just change your mind. It is quick and easy to prepare and it only has 6 ingredients.
Strawberry smoothies are delicious on its own but it can also be the perfect base for any other healthy additions you’d like. This could be your healthy go-to summer treat or your breakfast smoothie during those busy mornings where you don’t have the time to prepare an actual breakfast meal.
Preparation time 10 minutes
Serves 2
INGREDIENTS
8-10 strawberries, hulled
1/2 cup skimmed milk
1/2 cup plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
3 tablespoons coconut sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
6 cubes ice, crushed
PROCEDURE
In a blender combine strawberries, milk, yogurt, sugar, and vanilla. Toss in the ice. Blend until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses. Serve and enjoy!
Quick tip: You can substitute the coconut sugar with maple syrup – just adjust it according to your taste. You can also amp up your smoothie by adding a scoop of your favorite protein powder or even with other nutritious fruits and veggies!
If you don’t like your smoothie watered down with the crushed ice cubes, just freeze the strawberries the night before and skip the ice when making the smoothie.
