Updates: November 17-23

Today, I have to wish my Dad a Happy Birthday! Given the magnitude of the milestone (it ends in ‘0’), I decided to travel the few hours back to my hometown and surprise him for the weekend! As I struggle to build a fire in their wood burning stove, I remember all the little things you can take for granted in the city. Sure, my parents have electric heating, but it sure is more fun (and possibly more frugal) to heat the house with wood.  I haven’t been back home in a number of months, so it’s good to get away from the city and relax. Now off to plan my Dad’s surprise party!

    hey mate,
Sounds like you needed the trip back home to relax and remember the good old days. I think using firewood is a brilliant way to heat the home. My father in law using wood all winter long just to keep the house toasty and we love it when we visit. Thanks for sharing CBB and enjoy that visit.
