To be honest, I’ve never really “got” Halloween. I’m not into scary movies, I don’t really like dressing up and candy is bad for you. It also strikes me that it’s a very un-frugal holiday. Have you checked the price of candy lately? Let’s just say it ain’t cheap! So, hopefully you can rack up as many entries into the contest as possible over the next three weeks and win yourself a Halloween fund! If you win the grand prize, you might even be able to throw in some decorations.
Despite not being a fan of Halloween as an adult, I do have good memories of it as a kid. I lived in a rural neighbourhood and as such, knew many of the houses that I went trick or treating at. It created a sense of community that you don’t often get in urban areas. Plus, there are more houses – it’s often difficult to trick or treat in a condo! So, if you’re headed out to trick or treat, I won’t judge you ;). What was your Halloween like as a kid?
