Happy long weekend! It’s nice that I’m actually able to say this to my American friends instead of explaining some obscure Canadian holiday… One of my coworkers is from the US and is constantly shocked at the fact we pretty much have a day off work every month.
Labour Day weekend has become less about ‘back to school’ for me and more about changing seasons. After a July in which we got no rain (amazing and shocking for Vancouverites), we were treated to the best storm I’ve seen in a few years earlier this week. Lots of lightening and a torrential downpour – thankfully I was in a car and stayed dry! We don’t get very many thunderstorms out here, so it’s always a treat when we do.
I plan to take full advantage of the long weekend and check out a chili/BBQ festival, potentially check out the last few days of the PNE and go bet on some horse races!
