6 Rainy Weekend Boredom-Busters

There are some weekends where you just don’t want to go out. The weather is awful, you’re working with a tight budget, or you just feel compelled to stay home.

That doesn’t mean you have to bored, though.

Here are six smart things to do on a rainy weekend.

Prepare for the Week

If you’re always rushing through the week take some time to plan ahead.

You can prepare a big batch of freezer meals, clean your house, get your laundry done, create a menu plan, and catch up on any work you’ve been needing to do.

While these activities might not seem fun while you’re doing them the productivity boost and stress relief you get when you’re done is more than worth it!

Play Games

Sometimes it’s just nice to relax and if playing games is something you enjoy then now is the time to do it.

Wind down by playing your favorite games on your phone, online, or try to play casino games for fun. Playing games is a great way to de-stress.

Clear the Clutter and Earn some Cash

Need some extra cash? Go room by room through your house and start making a pile of everything you no longer want, need, or use.

Then head on over to Facebook Yard Sales for the small stuff and Craigslist for the big stuff. Start listing your clutter and watch the offers fly in. (Be sure to check out these apps and websites that’ll pay you for your stuff too!)

You’ll do double duty – make some extra cash and de-clutter your house all at once!

Do Crafts with the Kids

If your kids are home do some bonding while making some beautiful crafts.

Check out this big list of kid crafts and then get to work. There’s something on this list that every family can do. If you’re not feeling inspired by any of these head on over to Pinterest where the kids craft ideas are seemingly endless.

Read

My favorite author, Brian Tracy, recommends that you read one hour per day in your chosen career field. Staying up to date will help you stay one step above the competition.

Don’t feel like reading non-fiction? No problem. This article from Psychology Today reports that reading fiction increases brain connectivity and function. Not to mention kicking back with a good fiction book is a great way to relax.

Review Your Budget

Creating and sticking with a budget is the best way to achieve financial stability and build wealth. Review your budget, investing accounts, and retirement statements.

Make changes where you see fit.

Conclusion

Sometimes staying in on the weekend is just what you need. It allows you to relax, plan ahead, and rejuvenate yourself for the week ahead.

What are your favorite activities for a rainy weekend?
