Updates: May 6 – 12

Well, today was a busy one. The day job is getting rather busy, with our annual conference coming up at the beginning of June, so I spent my morning attempting to catch up on a lot of backlogged work. After a quick brunch, CF and I headed downtown to check out the Epic! Sustainable Living Expo. As a long time Eat! Vancouver (what’s with all the ‘!”!) attendee, I was not sure what to expect from the Epic Expo, however I was pleasantly surprised. For the price of admission ($10-15) plus a $5 additional fee to the EPICurean pavilion (a lot of food and drink samples, we certainly ate and drank our fill for what we paid. Most definitely cheaper than Eat! Vancouver at this point. A good find if you’re looking for a last minute Mother’s Day outing. Following the Epic! expedition, we headed down to the beach (on a gorgeous Vancouver day) for a beach BBQ with CF’s new co-workers. This has thus resulted in me sitting here after 9pm writing the weekly update!

Here’s what I’m reading (right this second!)

  • Congrats to Mo’ Money Mo’ Houses on her 100th post! I fully support the impending scale back: We’ve got 2 people working on this blog and post Tu/Th/Sa and it’s a handful. I can’t imagine posting once per week while maintaining a day job and any normal sense of life!
  • Digging Out and Up looks at all the things her savings could be spent on If I didn’t Save. I love examples, and there are some great ones here

What did you get up to this weekend? We played GIANT JENGA.
